Visit to Petronas Twin Tower Kuala Lumpur

When visiting Kuala Lumpur, the journey will seems incomplete if you do not make a point to visit and see the Petronas Twin Tower.  Even though I was on a tight working schedule, I make a commitment to see this great landmark in the late afternoon. I took a cab from my hotel to the Petronas Twin Tower, it took about 20 minutes mainly due to the traffic jam in Bukit Bintang. Alternatively I could also take a train to the Petronas Twin  Tower when would be cheaper but I was too tired to walk to the train station.  When I arrived at the site, I saw many tourists busy taking photos of the Twin Tower.  The area around the Petronas Twin Tower was spacious and wide enough to accommodate the many tourists that clogged this place.

My first impression when I saw the Twin Tower was that it is really a magnificent and beautiful sight. It makes me feel really small and insignificant when you stand in front of the Twin Tower. I understand from my friend that the Petronas Twin Tower is still the highest Twin Tower in the world.  It has a total of 88 storey ( a lucky and auspicious number for the Chinese )  and the height is 452 metres above street level. There is also a sky bridge at the 41 storey and is open to the public for a fee. I didn’t manage to visit the skybridge as I was in a tight schedule.  I think the park could be further enhance by making more benches for tourists, especially the elderly and kids.

There is a huge shopping mall that is inside the Twin Towers itself – it is called the Suria KLCC mall. There are many entrances in the podium and it makes it quite easy as well as confusing. I was lost in this huge mall when I was trying to figure out my original entrance point; so that I could go back to the same taxi stand. There must be hundreds of shops inside the mall that it would take me a whole day if I am going to browse them all.  As I have only about an hour to spare before my next appointment, I try to browse through the mall by walking briskly. My conclusion is that I must come back here again as this is a good place for shopping and eating; and the same time I must also visit the skybridge at the Twin Tower. When I finally managed to find my way back to the taxi stand, I was surprised that I couldn’t just flagged down and board a taxi, I was told by the taxi driver that I must make my booking at the taxi counter. So I went to the cab counter and have to pay a surcharge and a ticket just to board a taxi.  Now that is easy way to make money for the cab operators in the Twin Tower.
