I took a trip to Kuala Lumpur and opted to stay in Prince Hotel in Bukit Bintang. There are plenty of hotels that you can pick in Kuala Lumpur depending on the area that you want to stay and of course on your budget. I choose to stay in Prince Hotel because of the strategic location and also of the good reviews made by people on the internet. If you are going to KL by coach from Singapore, some of the coach companies do dropped you off at the certain destinated hotels. In this way, you will save time and money ( cab fare ) when you arrived in KL.

I arrived at Prince Hotel at about 1 pm and the concierge staff was there asking me whether I needed help with my luggage, this proactive approach makes me feel relaxed and welcomed. The lobby at the Prince Hotel was spacious and well decorated. The staff at the check in counter attended to me and told me that my room was not ready. I was told to come back in one hour time and so I took this waiting time to go for lunch at the Pavilion mall, which was about ten minutes walk from this hotel. The location of Prince hotel is such that it is slightly off the busy main road but you can have easy access to many malls around Bukit Bintang if you know the short cuts and direction to walk. Traffic along Bukit Bintang is very heavy during peak hours, so I find it more convenient to walk or take the train rather than taking a cab.

Finally I was given the key to my room. I went to the hotel lobby and took the lift. I pressed the button on the lift but the number on the button did not light up. Then I saw a slot at the bottom and realized that you need to slot in your room card in order to activate this lift. I think this is a good measurement to enhance the security of the guests. The room which I was given was clean and well maintained. I think the room size though it was sufficient for 2 guests, looked small as compared to other hotels in KL. The king size bed was comfortable and firm and there are all the amenities like safe, mini fridge, iron, hair dryer available in the room. There is the large LCD TV with many different program channels that you could pick and choose. Some hotels in KL are still using the old CRT TVs in their rooms.

The bathroom was spacious and clean. And a good feature is that there is a separated bath and shower cubicle in the bathroom. And the shower cubicle though it was small, it have provided me with a good shower because of good water pressure from the shower hose. The water pressure coming from the shower tap was really great – lots of water spurting out very fast, you can actually feel the soap being removed from your hair and body in less than 2 to 3 minutes. Toiletries that were provided were sufficient but I felt that there should be an additional toothbrush given. The towels given were sufficient and clean. Overall I was satisfied with the bathroom in terms of cleanliness, size, functionality and the toiletries given.

I went for the morning breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The restaurant was spacious with sufficient tables and chairs. As I was there at about 7 am, there was only a few guests eating there. The restaurant started to get busy at about 8 am onwards, with many hotel guests filling up the tables taking their breakfast. Breakfast was good with many choices. There is the usual continental food, Malay food, Chinese food and even Japanese miso soup that you can take. In fact the spread of food is extensive and I am not able to try it all. I think this is one of the best breakfast that I have taken during my stay in Kuala Lumpur.

My review of this hotel is that it is a hotel that provides good value for your money. It has a strategic location and the room was comfortable and clean. I did not try the swimming pool and the Gym due to the limited time that I have. I will be definitely be coming back to stay in Prince Hotel when I am back in Kuala Lumpur.
