Managed to snap some photos of the closed Ampang Park Shopping Centre while in Kuala Lumpur. This shopping mall will be demolished to make way for the construction of Ampang Park MRT station.
I am sure lots of people would have fond memories of Ampang Park Shopping Centre – it is Malaysia’s first shopping mall that was built in 1973. Though it was an old mall, I used to patronize the food outlets quite often and browsed at the many shops in the mall.
Anyway, the old will be make way for the new; thanks for the fond memories. Hope to see the new Ampang Park MRT station in the near future.
Went to the Restoran Pau Kee in the late morning for breakfast. Ordered the Chicken & Prawn Hor Fun, a plate of chicken, a plate of vegetable and tea.
I walked to this Restoran Pau Kee from The Westin & JW Marriott Hotel and it took me about 15 minutes to reach this food outlet. One prominent sign to look out is the Honda Motor showroom shop house and the road signage – Jalan Barat. You can see a coffee shop the front of Jalan Barat. Just keep walking in; along the small road and you should be able to locate this restaurant.
You can choose to be seated outside or inside ( which is air conditioned ). I prefer to be seated inside; as Kuala Lumpur is very hot & humid even in the morning.
The food here is good and value for money. My friend told me about the delicious hor fun ( rice noodles ) here. Having tried the food that I ordered, I would say my top preference was the steamed chicken, followed by the Hor fun and the green vegetables. The green vegetables was good but the sauce was rather salty.
Do try out this food outlet when you are in Bukit Bintang or around Pavilion mall. It is worth the walk.
