Holiday Villa Johor Bahru City Centre is a new hotel located opposite KSL City Mall and KSL hotel in Century Garden, Johor Bahru. I stayed at the superior room with King Size bed. The check in at the lobby was fast and a deposit of RM100 was collected in lieu of using credit card.
The room was spacious and the king size bed was firm. The bathroom was spacious too and the basic toiletries were provided. It took some time for the air conditioned in the room to be cool. Perhaps it was due to the hot weather outside. A small safe, kettle and a mini fridge were provided.

Breakfast was at the restaurant located at Level 9 of the hotel. The restaurant was spacious and the varieties of food were more than sufficient for me. I saw many PRC tourists coming in during breakfast time.
Overall, Holiday Villa City Centre hotel was a comfortable and relaxing hotel to stay. Will come back for a second visit.
There is a Night market or Pasar Malam that is worth visiting when you are in Johor Bahru. The night market operates along the small road just opposite KSL Mall & Hotel on every Monday.
A good time to visit this Pasar Malam is from 5pm in the afternoon. Of course you can visit it in the night; but do note that some of the food items were sold out even before early evening. This was because some vendors brought in limited stock of their items and once it was sold out, they simply packed up.

You can get almost everything here under the sun and moon. Lots of different food to choose – both cooked and uncooked. Interesting items that I saw includes live fishes, fresh vegetables, fruits, fancy stationery, Chinese Dim Sum, organic insect repellent spray, clothes for children and ladies, computer accessories, etc.
Street food near KSL Mall
The Pasar Malam gets very crowded in the early evening. Therefore be alert and keep an eye on your wallets and handbags. Bring along a backpack if you intend to do some serious shopping. I saw many aunties dragging their trolleys as though going to the wet market.
Chinese traditional Kueh.
Personally, the most interesting thing about this night market was the wide variety of food that you could buy. You can have a starter, main course and desert all along the narrow street.
Variety of Coffee beans
I have chosen to stay at KSL Hotel during my visit to this Pasar Malam. I think it was very convenient and relaxing. Once my backpack was full of items that I bought, I went back to my hotel room and emptied it. Within minutes, I was back at the Pasar Malam again.
