I arrived at Permas Jaya, Johor Bahru at 1.30 pm and was walking along the streets looking for a place to rest and have a light meal. There are numerous coffesshops and restaurants here – the choices of food here are endless.

Finally settled down in a spartan coffeeshop called Sin Soon Li Restaurant. This place was quiet and clean; with only a handful customers having their meals. The menu is hung up on the plain wall. I ordered the Mee Hoon Kueh and a hot Teh O.

The Mee Hoon Kueh looked plain and ordinary. However it taste great – just liked a good home cooked meal. The ingredients added were just sweet leaf vegetable, minced pork, anchovies and a raw egg. The broth is good ( not salty at all). I also added some chilli with soya sauce for the extra flavor. The only disappointment is the hot Teh O. I think they should use better quality tea leaves.

I liked the Mee Hoon Kueh and will come back to this Sin Soon Li Restaurant again when I am come back to Permas Jaya.
