Recently stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in Johor Bahru. The hotel is located at Permas Jaya behind the Petrol station. There is a overhead pedestrian bridge with bus shelter along the busy main road. The two bus kiosks can take you from JB Sentral to Renaissance Hotel and vice versa.
The appearance of Renaissance Hotel building looked rather boring and dull. Checking in was slightly delayed even though the hotel lobby was literally almost empty at that time. Understand from the staff that the room was not ready; even though it was already 3pm. Anyway, the hotel was also promoting its mooncakes at the lobby. Did managed to sample their mooncakes – it was delicious and so I bought one box of 4 mooncakes. The staff told me that there was no preservatives used in their baked mooncakes; so it is advisable to eat as soon as possible.

The room was spacious and clean. The king size bed and pillows were clean and comfortable. I liked the shower in the bathroom; the water pressure was very strong. You can literally rinse off any soap or shampoo from your body in less than 5 minutes. The air conditioned was cold and running quietly. There was a big TV in the bedroom – didn’t have much time to watch TV.

The breakfast was really good. The restaurant was large with enough tables and chairs to accommodate hotel guests. The breakfast spread was generous; with a wide variety of food. I liked the fresh fruit juice counter, the do it yourself noodles counter and the simple porridge. The Indian mutton curry and vegetarian curry were excellent.

Overall it was a good stay at the Renaissance Hotel in Permas Jaya. I would definitely come back to stay at this hotel when I come back to Permas Jaya.
